Save the date for our Senior Prom: Saturday, April 13th from 12-5 p.m.

This adoption event, held at our newly renovated sanctuary at 34 Hamilton Avenue in Oyster Bay, features a prom-like atmosphere, and highlights our Seniors for Seniors program (where we cover the reasonable future medical expenses for a senior cat 8 and older adopted by an approved senior citizen).

Not looking to adopt? All are welcome for a tour (and snuggles from kitties!)

In addition to tours, visitors may wish to sponsor a cat and help us continue to provide housing and medical care for cats in our care.  Sponsors will receive a hand-painted ornament with your sponsoree's name (or your own cat's name if preferred).

This isn’t just a prom — it’s a celebration of love, compassion, and the joy that senior cats bring. Let the whiskers twirl, the tails sway, and the hearts melt at our Senior Prom!

The Patricia H. Ladew Foundation, Inc. is a New York State Registered Shelter/Rescue. Our Registration Number is RR321.

We are pleased to present our updated look! Beginning in summer 2021, we hired the Square Paws design team and Gerwald Construction to make PHLF even better for the cats and kittens in our care. With the installation of custom sustainable cat trees and a brand new 150 foot indoor run, the cats will have more to explore and the surfaces will be easier for our staff to clean. Mission Statement

Reducing feline suffering by providing housing for homeless cats rescued from municipal shelters, sterilizing those stray and feral cats to reduce overpopulation and by providing necessary medical treatment.

The house in Oyster Bay is a closed–admission sanctuary for homeless cats that are rescued primarily from Animal Care and Control and Long Island municipal shelters. It features outdoor enclosed runs and offers a home–like atmosphere where the cats live uncaged (unless illness necessitates temporary caging). Caretakers live on the premises to accommodate daily care for the cats. Our on-site staff veterinarian checks each cat on a regular basis and provides any medical treatment necessary. All cats are vaccinated, tested for FELV/FIV, sterilized and microchipped. New cats are quarantined for 30 days prior to introduction to the resident cats.  Due to our small size, we are unable to accept cats from the public.  When space allows, we rescue and provide medical care for cats slated for euthanasia from overcrowded city shelters.  The New Hope Fund was started through a generous donation from Sandra Atlas Bass and has been renamed to the Sandra Atlas Bass New Hope Fund.

Our Seniors for Seniors Program was designed to help senior cats find homes while relieving senior adopters of the financial burden of adopting a senior cat.

PHLF has teamed up with Pet Rescue music Radio who will feature our cats on their Pets of The Day Program!
